THE PASSING OF OJORA PATRIARCH: A MOMENT OF NATIONAL REFLECTION — PROF. ALI AHMAD
With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, I join family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers in mourning the passing of Otunba Adekunle Ojora—a revered patriarch, distinguished statesman, father of Erelu Toyin Ojora-Saraki, and father-in-law to Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, Waziri Ngeri of the Ilorin Emirate and former President of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Otunba Adekunle Ojora lived a life defined by dignity, wisdom, and enduring relevance. Across corporate leadership, traditional institutions, and family life, he exemplified grace, restraint, and principled influence. His life journey reminds us that true legacy is not built merely on prominence, but on character, values, and the quiet strength with which one shapes generations.
For Erelu Toyin Ojora-Saraki and the entire Ojora family, the loss of a father is the loss of a personal anchor—a source of guidance, moral clarity, and unwavering support. Yet, in her resilience, compassion, and commitment to service, the enduring imprint of her father’s ideals remains visible, alive, and impactful.
To Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, Waziri Ngeri of the Ilorin Emirate, this moment marks the passing of a respected elder and father-in-law whose counsel and presence enriched both family life and public engagement. The bond they shared reflects a union of values rooted in respect, discipline, and responsibility—values that continue to resonate beyond this painful moment.
Otunba Adekunle Ojora’s life is a powerful reminder that leadership is not always loud, and influence is not always assertive. Some legacies endure because they are built on wisdom, calm strength, and consistent devotion to family and society.
At this moment of profound loss, I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and strengthens the Ojora and Saraki families with patience to bear this grief. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
Signed:
Prof. Ali Ahmad
