THE ALI AHMAD FOUNDATION MARKS PROF. ALI AHMAD’S BIRTHDAY WITH CHARITY OUTREACH TO INMATES
In a departure from conventional birthday celebrations, the Ali Ahmad Foundation chose to mark the birthday of its Founder and Principal, Prof. Ali Ahmad, through an act of compassion and social responsibility, extending support and encouragement to one of the most neglected segments of society — inmates in correctional facilities.
Rather than celebrating with fanfare, music, and public festivities, the Foundation honoured Prof. Ali Ahmad’s lifelong commitment to humanity, justice, and dignity by visiting the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin, where essential relief materials, including food items and clothing, were distributed, alongside words of reassurance and encouragement.
This initiative was not merely symbolic. It served as a deliberate reminder that no human being is beyond compassion, and that true leadership is measured by the ability to remember those often forgotten by society. The outreach reaffirmed the Foundation’s enduring belief in rehabilitation, mercy, and second chances.
In a response delivered on behalf of the inmates, the Welfare Officer and Chaplain expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and the generous support received. “Prof. Ali Ahmad’s continuous concern for our welfare reminds us that we are not forgotten,” the Welfare Officer said. “His repeated acts of kindness inspire us to remain committed to personal growth, rehabilitation, and hope for a better future beyond confinement.”
The inmates, through the Welfare Officer, also used the opportunity to make special requests, particularly on behalf of those actively engaged in skill-acquisition and rehabilitation programmes within the facility. They appealed for continued support in the form of additional training materials, equipment, tools, and empowerment opportunities that would enable them to deepen their skills, become self-reliant, and reintegrate meaningfully into society upon their release.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, the Executive Director, Barr. Sarafadeen, stated, “Prof. Ali Ahmad believes that birthdays should be marked asq opportunities for impact, not indulgence. Spending this special day among inmates reflects his unwavering commitment to humanity and compassion over personal comfort.”
Beyond the immediate support provided, the initiative reinforces the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to justice, inclusion, empowerment, and social healing, especially at a time when fear, insecurity, and hardship threaten the collective spirit of communities.
In the face of growing challenges confronting the state, this act of charity stands as a silent but powerful statement: compassion is stronger than fear, and love remains the true foundation of leadership.
Happy Birthday, Prof. Ali Ahmad.
Your life continues to inspire service.
Your heart continues to stir hope.
Your name continues to represent compassion in action.
