Prof. Ali Ahmad Mourns the Passing of HRH Oludofian, Oba Muhammad Jamiu Omikunle II: “A Custodian of Heritage and Symbol of Peace

Prof. Ali Ahmad, former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Royal Highness, the Oludofian of Idofian, Oba Muhammad Jamiu Omikunle II.

Describing the news as a profound loss, Prof. Ahmad said the revered monarch’s demise is not only a painful moment for the people of Idofian but also a heavy blow to the entire traditional institution in Kwara State.

I commiserate with the good people of Ifelodun over the passing of HRH Oludofian, Oba Muhammad Jamiu Omikunle II. His sudden departure is a painful loss not only to the Idofian community but to the entire traditional institution in Kwara. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, and strengthen his family, the council of chiefs, and all sons and daughters of Idofian in this difficult time,” Prof. Ahmad stated.

He extolled the late monarch’s leadership as one anchored in peace, dignity, and developmental advocacy, noting that his reign embodied the values of humility, cultural preservation, and spiritual guidance.

According to Prof. Ahmad, Oba Omikunle II’s contributions to communal harmony and youth engagement will remain enduring legacies within and beyond Ifelodun Local Government.

While praying for divine mercy upon the departed soul, Prof. Ahmad urged the people of Idofian to uphold the late monarch’s values and unite in safeguarding the town’s continued progress.
