Prof. Ali Ahmad , former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, has congratulated Tairu Adebayo, Esq and Shuaib Agbarere Mustapha, Esq.—both indigenes of Ilorin—on their elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). He described their elevation as a significant milestone and a source of pride for Kwara and the Nigerian legal community.
In a statement released following the 2025 SAN conferment list announcement, Prof. Ahmad praised the new SANs for their disciplined legal advocacy, professional integrity, and unwavering dedication to justice,” qualities that have now earned national recognition.
He emphasized that their emergence among the selected few across the nation affirms the rising profile of Kwara lawyers and sends a strong message to aspiring legal professionals that excellence and ethics remain the pathway to success.
At a time when our justice system needs principled defenders of the law, this recognition offers hope. These two have not only represented clients—they have also embodied the values that define our legal heritage, he added.
Prof. Ahmad encouraged the honourees to leverage their elevated status in advancing justice sector reforms, mentoring younger lawyers, and promoting constitutional democracy. He also urged other legal practitioners in Kwara to emulate their commitment and pursuit of excellence.
Their elevation is a victory for merit, a reflection of the Ilorin spirit, and a reminder that service must remain the cornerstone of our profession, he concluded.
