PROF. ALI AHMAD CONGRATULATES KWARA UNITED ON FEDERATION CUP SEMIFINAL FEAT, URGES TEAM TO STRIVE FOR GLORY
Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has extended his heartfelt congratulations and encouragement to Kwara United Football Club as they prepare to face their opponents in the semi-final of the prestigious Federation Cup today, Tuesday, 21st May 2025, at the Bolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Prof. Ahmad described the club’s advancement to the semi-final stage as “a significant and commendable achievement,” praising the players, coaches, and management for their hard work, resilience, and consistency in lifting the hopes of Kwarans through football.
“Kwara United’s journey to this stage has reignited the pride of our state and reminded us all that with focus and teamwork, greatness is always within reach,” Prof. Ahmad stated. “The team has shown not only sporting excellence but also the unyielding spirit that defines the people of Kwara.”
While acknowledging the stiff competition ahead, Prof. Ahmad expressed confidence in the team’s capacity to rise to the occasion and make history by qualifying for the final—and ultimately lifting the trophy.
“I urge the team to go out with courage, unity, and belief. Play not just for yourselves but for the millions of Kwarans who stand behind you with pride and hope. Today, you carry our collective dream, and I believe you will come out in flying colours,” he added.
Prof. Ahmad also called on the Kwara State Government, stakeholders, and fans to rally behind the team with visible support, affirming that sports, like other sectors, deserve inclusive attention and encouragement from all levels of leadership.
“Our athletes and sports teams need to feel seen, valued, and supported. Success in sports unites people and inspires generations. Kwara United has earned our applause—let’s give them all they need to succeed.”
He concluded by praying for the team’s success and safe return, emphasizing that sports can continue to be a tool for unity, youth engagement, and positive visibility for Kwara State.
