Prof. Ali Ahmad Commiserates on the Passing of Alhaji Shuaib Baba Jimoh (Gbadungbadun)
Prof. Ali Ahmad, former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Shuaib Baba Jimoh (fondly called Gbadungbadun), a respected elder statesman and political leader in Kwara State.
Prof. Ahmad described Alhaji Jimoh’s death as a great loss to Kwara North, the PDP family, and Kwara State at large, recalling his outstanding service as Chairman of Moro Local Government Area, Kwara North Senatorial Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and as a member of the State Elders Council.
He noted that Alhaji Jimoh lived a life defined by humility, wisdom, and commitment to justice and fairness. “His dedication to community service and his loyalty to the cause of building a better Kwara remain inspiring legacies. He was a bridge-builder, a true grassroots politician, and a source of mentorship and inspiration to younger generations,” Prof. Ahmad said.
Quoting the Qur’an, he reminded: “Every soul shall taste death. ….” (Qur’an 3:185). He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive Alhaji Jimoh’s shortcomings, accept his return, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
Prof. Ahmad extended heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the people of Moro Local Government, the PDP family, and the entire Kwara North Senatorial District. He prayed for the strength and comfort of all who mourn him.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and political associates, I mourn with his loved ones and the PDP family over this irreparable loss. May Allah grant him eternal rest and bless the legacy he has left behind,” Prof. Ahmad concluded.
