Prof. Ali Ahmad Commends Kwara Citizens on Voter Registration Turnout
Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has commended the people of Kwara State for their encouraging participation in the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise.
According to INEC’s official breakdown, over 33,700 Kwarans have already completed their online pre-registration within the first week of the exercise, placing Kwara among the states with a strong early turnout.
Prof. Ahmad applauded this level of civic consciousness, noting that it reflects the people’s readiness to play their part in shaping the state and Nigeria’s democratic future. He further advised that all those who have completed the online process should ensure they follow it up with the biometric capturing at designated INEC centres, so that their registration will be valid and their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) issued.
“Democracy begins with the voter’s card. I urge every eligible Kwara son and daughter who has registered online not to stop halfway. The capturing process is what makes the registration complete, and only then can your voice truly count at the ballot box,” he said.
Prof. Ahmad also encouraged those who have not started the process to seize the opportunity, reminding all that every single vote matters in building a future of accountable and people-centered governance.
