*Prof. Ali Ahmad Celebrates the Emir of Ilorin: 30 Glorious Years on the Throne of Sheikh Alimi
“Today marks not merely an anniversary, but the manifestation of divine order in the life of a distinguished custodian of tradition and esteemed ruler of the Ilorin Emirate,” remarked Prof. Ali Ahmad, former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, in his congratulatory message to His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on his 30th anniversary as the 11th Emir of Ilorin.
Reflecting on the rare spiritual symmetry of 11–11, Prof. Ali Ahmad noted that as the 11th Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Traditional Council, His Royal Highness’s ascension on the 11th day of the 11th month embodies these sacred numbers. This divine alignment, he said, symbolizes heavenly order, perfect balance, and enduring blessing, guiding and defining His Royal Highness’s 30 remarkable years of wise and exemplary leadership on the throne of Sheikh Alimi.
Prof. Ahmad described the Emir as “a fountain of culture, tradition, and wisdom; a custodian of peace; and a living embodiment of Ilorin’s heritage of faith, learning, and unity.” He noted that under the Emir’s reign, the Ilorin Emirate has enjoyed unprecedented stability, social cohesion, and spiritual renewal, qualities that continue to inspire generations within and beyond Kwara State.
“For 30 years, His Royal Highness has carried the legacy of Sheikh Alimi with grace and vision,” Prof. Ahmad said. “His reign has been marked by wisdom in counsel, fairness in judgment, and humility in leadership, ensuring that Ilorin remains a bastion of harmony where tradition and modernity walk hand in hand.”
Prof. Ahmad concluded by offering heartfelt prayers for the Emir’s continued health and divine protection:
“May Almighty Allah grant His Royal Highness long life, renewed strength, and greater wisdom as he continues to lead the Ilorin Emirate in peace and prosperity. The 11th Emir on the 11th day of the 11th month; 30 years of grace is a divine script beautifully written in time.”
