PROF. ALI AHMAD CELEBRATES HON. KAMALDEEN OYEKUNLE FAGBEMI (TAFO) ON HIS BIRTHDAY
Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, celebrates Hon. Kamaldeen Oyekunle Fagbemi, fondly known as Tafo — a two-term legislator, accomplished legal luminary, and a man of uncommon generosity — on the occasion of his birthday.
Reflecting on Fagbemi’s contributions, Prof. Ahmad quoted American statesman and lawyer Abraham Lincoln: “Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” He noted that Fagbemi’s life and service represent the “real thing”—a steadfast commitment to principles, selflessness, and unity.
“Hon. Fagbemi’s career in the legislature was marked not just by eloquence but by wisdom, maturity, and an enduring focus on service above self,” Prof. Ahmad stated.
He emphasized that beyond the House, Fagbemi’s impact in the legal profession remains profound, embodying the finest traditions of the Bar—integrity, diligence, and an open-hearted generosity that transcends politics and profession. “His life is a reminder that leadership is not about occupying space but about making a difference,” Prof. Ahmad said.
Prof. Ahmad described Hon. Fagbemi (Tafo) as a man whose humility and good humor continue to bind people together, fostering unity and goodwill within the party and across communities.
“Hon. Fagbemi stands as a testament to what genuine service looks like—quiet yet impactful, modest yet deeply influential,” Prof. Ahmad remarked. “His open heart and noble spirit have touched many lives and helped nurture an atmosphere of harmony, particularly in Oyun and across Kwara South.”
Prof. Ahmad expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for Hon. Fagbemi’s life, praying that he continues to enjoy good health, greater wisdom, and abundant blessings in the years ahead.
“As we celebrate Hon. Kamaldeen Oyekunle Fagbemi (Tafo) today, we also celebrate the enduring values he represents—integrity, kindness, and unity. May his light continue to shine brightly for many more years to come.”
