PDP Congresses: Prof. Ali Ahmad ReaffirmsUnity Ahead of 2027
As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) commences its congresses with the ward congress scheduled for Saturday, 13th September 2025, Prof. Ali Ahmad, former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, has reiterated his commitment as a party man, calling on members to put the collective interest of the PDP above personal ambition.
In a goodwill message to party faithful, Prof. Ahmad emphasized that unity and discipline remain the strongest weapons of the PDP as it positions itself to reclaim power in 2027.
“The forthcoming PDP congresses are not a contest of supremacy but a demonstration of loyalty, sacrifice, and maturity. I appeal to all our members to resist the temptation of factionalism. History has shown that when personal ambition overshadows the interest of the party, the result is always weakness and loss. But when PDP comes first, we emerge stronger and more united for the battles ahead,” Prof. Ahmad stated.
Prof. Ahmad also appealed to aggrieved members to sheath their swords and embrace reconciliation in the overall interest of the party. According to him, disagreements are natural in every political family, but healing and forgiveness must take precedence if PDP is to stand as one formidable force ahead of 2027.
“The people of Kwara and Nigerians at large are counting on us. We must therefore rise above self and prove that PDP is bigger than any individual. Our guiding principle must be: PDP First, Self Later, Victory Always,” he added.
Prof. Ahmad prayed for peaceful, transparent, and successful congresses across the state and reaffirmed his personal commitment to the unity and progress of the party.
