ALANAMU VANGUARD HONOURS PROF. ALI AHMAD, SIGNALS STRONG GRASSROOTS BACKING AHEAD OF 2027
The political mood in Alanamu Ward, Ilorin, came alive with energy and optimism as the Ali Ahmad Vanguard hosted a well-attended Award and Recognition Ceremony in honour of PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Prof. Ali Ahmad. The gathering drew party leaders, community stakeholders, women and youth groups, all united in their show of confidence in his leadership and vision.
The strong turnout of his support base from the last election underscored his growing influence within the party. Notably, 6 out of 12 former councillorship candidates from Ilorin West, 10 out of 11 from Ilorin South, and 23 out of 36 ex-delegates from Ilorin West were in attendance, highlighting solid internal backing and reinforcing his deep grassroots connection. Stakeholders openly reaffirmed their loyalty, citing his consistent engagement and sustained support for local political actors over the years.
Speakers at the event described Prof. Ali Ahmad as a tested and unifying leader with a solid legislative record, pointing to his tenure as Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly as evidence of his commitment to democratic values and party unity. His alignment with party ideals and longstanding political structure was also emphasized.
In his remarks, Prof. Ali Ahmad expressed gratitude for the recognition while urging Kwarans to stay focused on building a better future beyond 2027. He stressed the need for capable, experienced leadership that can restore trust, deliver good governance, and truly reflect the aspirations of the people.
