Prof. Ali Ahmad Undergoes PDP Gubernatorial Screening at Wadata Plaza, Abuja
Today, Thursday, 14th May, 2026, Prof.. Ali Ahmad was officially present at the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, for the gubernatorial screening exercise in line with the party’s constitutional guidelines and procedures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This important exercise marks another defining moment in the political journey of Prof. Ali Ahmad — a tested, trusted, and consistently loyal party man whose commitment to the ideals, unity, and progress of the PDP has remained steadfast over the years.
It is on record that during the 2019 gubernatorial process, Prof. Ali Ahmad successfully scaled through the same screening process with distinction, demonstrating not only his competence and political acceptability but also his exceptional capacity for leadership and governance. Yet, despite his strong credentials and overwhelming support across Kwara State, he willingly and unconditionally stepped down for the collective interest of the party, placing party supremacy, unity, and stability above personal ambition.
That decision remains one of the strongest demonstrations of loyalty, sacrifice, and political maturity within the history of the PDP in Kwara State. While many pursue power for personal gain, Prof. Ali Ahmad chose the path of discipline, peace, and loyalty to party structure — a rare attribute that continues to distinguish him among contemporary political leaders.
Beyond loyalty, Prof. Ali Ahmad has consistently proven himself as a man of capacity, intellect, administrative experience, and people-oriented leadership. From his outstanding legislative record to his contributions as a legal scholar, public servant, and former Speaker, he has continually shown the competence and vision required to deliver responsible and impactful governance to the people of Kwara State.
Today’s screening exercise is therefore not merely another political procedure; it is a reaffirmation of the confidence many party faithful and Kwarans have in a leader who has been tested in character, loyalty, and capacity — and has excelled in all.
