Prof. Ali Ahmad Felicitates with the Christian Faithful on the Celebration of Christmas

Prof. Ali Ahmad, former Speaker of the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, warmly felicitates with the Christian faithful in Kwara State and across Nigeria as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, a season that symbolizes love, sacrifice, humility, and hope for humanity.

Prof. Ahmad described Christmas as a profound reminder of the enduring virtues of compassion, selflessness, peace, and service to mankind, values that transcend religious boundaries and remain essential for societal harmony. He noted that these ideals resonate deeply with the long-standing culture of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among people of different faiths in Kwara State, a heritage he urged all residents to continue to protect and strengthen.

He acknowledged that this year’s celebration comes amid serious socio-economic challenges confronting many families, including rising cost of living and economic uncertainty. Prof. Ahmad expressed deep empathy with households marking the season under constrained circumstances, emphasizing that leadership and citizenship alike must remain sensitive to the realities of the people.

The former Speaker also expressed concern over the prevailing security challenges affecting parts of Kwara State and Nigeria at large, noting that communities grappling with fear, loss, and displacement deserve collective compassion and sincere prayers. According to him, Christmas offers a moment for reflection, healing, and renewed commitment to peace and human dignity.

Prof. Ahmad stressed the importance of shared responsibility during this season, encouraging those who are privileged to extend kindness to the less fortunate and to reinforce community bonds. He noted that true celebration of Christmas is reflected not in abundance alone, but in the willingness to uplift others and stand together in times of difficulty.

He further expressed hope that the message of Christmas would inspire renewed faith in a better tomorrow, particularly among the youth and families, adding that resilience, patience, and moral uprightness remain vital ingredients for national renewal. He called on leaders at all levels to draw lessons from the life of Christ by leading with wisdom, compassion, and a genuine sense of service.

Concluding with prayers, Prof. Ahmad prayed for peace, stability, and divine protection over Kwara State and Nigeria. He wished the Christian faithful a peaceful, joyful, and meaningful Christmas celebration, and expressed hope that the New Year would usher in renewed hope, improved security, and shared prosperity for all citizens.
