PROF. ALI AHMAD EXTENDS ARAFAT DAY GOODWILL TO PILGRIMS, MUSLIMS WORLDWIDE, AND NIGERIANS
Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has sent warm goodwill messages to Muslim faithful across the globe, especially pilgrims currently performing the 2025 Hajj, on the occasion of Arafat Day, a spiritually significant day in the Islamic calendar.
Prof. Ahmad described Arafat Day as “the heart of Hajj and the pinnacle of spiritual reflection for Muslims worldwide.” He noted that it is on this day, the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivered his Farewell Sermon and that standing on Mount Arafat represents the climax of the pilgrimage, a moment when millions of Muslims gather in humility, repentance, and deep devotion to seek Allah’s mercy.
To the pilgrims standing at Arafat, may your prayers pierce the heavens, and may Allah accept your Hajj as Hajj Mabrur. Your journey is a powerful symbol of total submission, and we in Kwara and Nigeria are joining you in spirit and in prayer,” Prof. Ahmad stated.
He also extended heartfelt prayers to all Muslims observing the day from their homes around the world, urging them to use the sacred hours of Arafat for introspection, forgiveness, and supplication. He emphasized that the Day of Arafat is not only for pilgrims but a unique opportunity for the entire Ummah to reconnect with Allah and realign with the noble values of Islam.
To all Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, this day is a gift—one that opens the door to mercy and forgiveness. Let us use it wisely, praying not only for ourselves but for peace, justice, and unity in our communities, he added.
Turning to Nigeria, Prof. Ahmad called on citizens, especially in Kwara State, to harness the spirit of Arafat to pray for the country’s healing and rebirth. He appealed to political, religious, and community leaders to embrace justice and truth, noting that Arafat Day teaches humility, accountability, and the oneness of humanity.
As we lift our voices to the heavens today, let us also commit to actions that reflect the beauty of our faith—compassion for the poor, justice in leadership, honesty in public life, and mercy in our daily interactions,” he said.
He prayed for the peace and security of Nigeria and Kwara State, urging citizens to remain hopeful and resilient in the face of challenges. According to him, the lessons of Arafat are urgently needed in a nation struggling with inequality, insecurity, and governance deficits.
As we await the joy of Eid tomorrow, may the spiritual energy of Arafat Day revive our souls, inspire our leaders, and strengthen our resolve to build a nation where no one is left behind.
Prof. Ahmad concluded with special prayers for the pilgrims’ safe return and for Allah’s blessings upon all Muslims across the world.
May Allah accept our prayers, forgive our sins, and bless us with peace, prosperity, and purpose.
