RAMADAN AS A SEASON OF COMPLETION AND CONTINUITY: PROF. ALI AHMAD URGES SUSTAINED RIGHTEOUSNESS BEYOND THE HOLY MONTH

Former Speaker of the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful on the completion of this year’s Ramadan, urging them to sustain the virtues cultivated during the holy month as they transition into the period beyond fasting.

Prof. Ali Ahmad described the end of Ramadan not as a conclusion, but as a spiritual checkpoint—one that calls for reflection, accountability, and continuity in faith, character, and social responsibility.

According to him, the discipline, sacrifice, and devotion observed throughout Ramadan should not fade with the sighting of the new moon but should instead shape the conduct of believers in their daily lives.

“The true essence of Ramadan lies not only in observing the fast but in sustaining its lessons. It is a season that trains us for a lifetime of righteousness, compassion, and accountability,” he stated.

He emphasized that as Muslims celebrate the successful completion of the fast, they must also evaluate the impact of the month on their relationship with Allah, their dealings with fellow human beings, and their commitment to justice, honesty, and community development.

Prof. Ali Ahmad further noted that the current socio-economic realities demand that the spirit of charity, unity, and empathy demonstrated during Ramadan be sustained, especially in supporting the less privileged and fostering communal harmony.

“As we mark the end of Ramadan, we must carry forward its values into our homes, our workplaces, and our public life. Our society needs continuous acts of kindness, integrity, and responsibility, not seasonal expressions,” he added.

He called on Muslim faithful to uphold peaceful coexistence, avoid actions that could disrupt unity, and remain steadfast in prayer, moral conduct, and service to humanity.

Prof. Ali Ahmad also urged leaders at all levels to draw lessons from Ramadan by embracing fairness, accountability, and a deeper sense of responsibility toward the welfare of the people.

He prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the ibadah of the faithful, grants them the opportunity to witness many more Ramadans in good health and prosperity, restores peace and security across communities, and blesses the nation with stability, progress, and enduring relief.

End.
