PROF. ALI AHMAD CONGRATULATES HON. AHMED IBN MOHAMMED, THE KIWOZI OF WAJIBE LAND, ON HIS DISTINGUISHED AWARD FOR LEADERSHIP IN PEACEBUILDING BY THE UNITED NATIONS PEACE AND POSITIVE LIVING AWARENESS CENTRE (UN-PEPOLAC)

“True leadership is measured not by position, but by the ability to inspire harmony, promote justice, and nurture peace among people,” says Prof. Ali Ahmad, the distinguished former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, as he extends his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, His Royal Highness, the Kiwozi of Wajibe Land, on receiving the Distinguished Award for Leadership in Peacebuilding from the United Nations Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre (UN-PEPOLAC) during the 2025 World Peace Day Celebration in Lagos.

In a congratulatory message released through his media office, Prof. Ahmad described the recognition as “a well-deserved global acknowledgment of Hon. Ibn Mohammed’s enduring commitment to peace, unity, and humanitarian service.” He noted that the award underscores the Kiwozi’s remarkable contributions to dialogue, reconciliation, and community development, both in Nigeria and beyond.

Prof. Ahmad recalled with pride the sterling leadership qualities Hon. Ibn Mohammed displayed during his tenure in the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly, where he served as Chairman, House Committee on Health, and a distinguished member of the Red-Cap Group—a caucus of reform-minded legislators devoted to accountability and people-centered governance. He stated, “Hon. Ibn Mohammed was, and remains, the true voice of his people—fearless in advocacy, compassionate in service, and unwavering in his pursuit of justice and equity.”

According to Prof. Ahmad, “The UN-PEPOLAC honour reflects not only his peacebuilding accomplishments but also his moral integrity, humility, and dedication to the principles of coexistence and mutual respect. His leadership continues to inspire both the old and young toward the noble ideals of service and humanity.”

He added, “As the Kiwozi of Wajibe Land, Hon. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed has embodied the essence of community leadership — one that builds bridges, heals divisions, and uplifts the downtrodden. This international recognition further affirms his stature as a global ambassador of peace and positive living.”

Prof. Ahmad concluded by offering prayers and encouragement, saying, “May Almighty Allah continue to strengthen you with wisdom, vision, and courage to advance the cause of peace, justice, and good governance. This honour is not just a recognition of past achievements but a call to even greater service to humanity.”
