Ilorin, April 11, 2025 — Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has extended warm and heartfelt congratulations to Professor Yusuf Ola-Olu Ali, SAN, on the occasion of his coronation today as the Kuliya Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin.

Prof. Ali Ahmad described Prof. Ola-Olu Ali as “a towering figure of our era, distinguished not only in the realms of law and justice, but also in the rare and noble calling of community development and public service.”

“Your turbaning today as the Kuliya Ngeri is not only symbolic, it is historic. It reflects the remarkable milestones you have achieved in the legal profession, your unwavering commitment to education, and your enduring service to community welfare,” he stated.

The new traditional title—interpreted as The Pinnacle of the Law—was praised by Prof. Ali Ahmad as a perfectly fitting honour for a Senior Advocate whose career spans decades of jurisprudential excellence, institutional reform, and philanthropy.

“Ilorin today recognizes not just your legal prowess but your deep moral compass, your humility in leadership, and your unmatched contributions through the Professor Yusuf Ali Foundation,” he added.

Prof. Ali Ahmad further remarked that “this honour solidifies your legacy as a beacon of excellence and integrity. It is my privilege to consistently align myself with you and your ideals.”

He expressed confidence that Prof. Ola-Olu Ali will bring even greater distinction to the revered title, while offering prayers for strength and divine guidance: “I sincerely pray that Almighty Allah blesses you with wisdom, strength, and robust health to discharge your new responsibilities with exceptional grace.”

He also commended the Emir of Ilorin for the foresight in bestowing this traditional crown upon one of the most respected sons of the Emirate, saying it bridges the enduring values of tradition and the future of enlightened leadership.

“Today, we celebrate a coronation that not only honours one man, but also enshrines the values of knowledge, justice, and service that our society desperately needs. May this moment inspire unity and renew the shared pride of Ilorin sons and daughters everywhere.”

Congratulations once again, Kuliyan Ngeri!
